    Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Q: What does Suggest_tree do?
A: Suggest_tree takes an unknown rRNA sequence and suggests a placement for it on one of the predetermined RDP phylogenetic trees. Suggest_tree is currently only available at the old Illinois site.

  2. Q: How do I go about generating a phylogenetic tree for an organism. I can pull 16S sequence from genbank
A: A very complete answer is given in the General FAQ file. This answer discusses tree building in general terms without using the Suggest_tree analysis command specifically.
